Rob is widely recognized for his highly responsive, collaborative approach and effective leadership. His 40 years in architecture in Northern California include 17 years with TLCD Architecture, a multi-disciplined firm, where he was Senior Principal and Principal-in-Charge of TLCD’s Solano County (Fairfield) office from 1998 to 2009. He served as Principal of Henley Architects and Associates from 2009 until the formation of A2R Architects in 2014.
As a LEED Accredited Professional, Rob is a strong advocate for responsible design and development, integrating sustainable strategies as a fundamental part of A2R’s design process. Rob studied Architecture at UC Berkeley and completed a Masters Program in Green Building at San Francisco Institute of Architecture. Rob’s professional associations include American Institute of Architects (AIA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH). Rob is also an active member of the Fairfield-Suisun Rotary Club.
Rob has a diverse and outstanding background in both planning and architectural design and, with 30 years of architectural experience, has a multitude of commercial, educational, and religious projects in Solano County to his credit. His experience as project manager and cost estimator brings an exceptionally keen awareness of construction costs, schedules and techniques to the projects he leads. Rob’s ability to meet budget constraints and create efficient design has been an important factor in maintaining a strong base of longtime clients.With his expertise in computer software systems, Rob also oversees A2R’s technical support team in computer scheduling, estimating and the preparation of construction documents.
Prior to forming A2R Architects in 2014, Rob was principal of his own firm, RSA Architecture, for 18 years in Vacaville, CA. Rob holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon. He is an active member of the Vacaville Rotary Club and Vacaville Chamber of Commerce.
